Spice cake – aromatic and tasty:

This spice cake is perfect for the Advent season and delights with many great spices such as cinnamon, anise, cardamom and nutmeg. A lot of milk and eggs make the cake particularly moist. The preparation is simple and quick, so the cake is also suitable for quick meals.

Ingredients for the spice cake (for 12 servings):

250 g cane sugar
200 g flour
80 g of ground nuts
250 g soft butter
80 ml of milk
5 organic eggs size M
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground star anise
1 pinch of ground cardamom

Required equipment:

bowl
baking pan

Preparation for the spice cake:

1.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and grease a baking pan with butter. Then stir butter and sugar in a bowl until frothy. Gradually stir the eggs into the batter.

Now pour the cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, cardamom and cocoa powder into the dough and stir. Mix the flour with the baking powder and slowly sprinkle into the dough, alternating with the milk.

Fold the nuts into the dough and pour the whole thing into the prepared baking pan, smooth it out and bake in the preheated oven for almost 40 minutes.

After the baking time, let the cake cool down, turn it out of the mold and decorate as you wish.

Things to know about spice cakes:

For a particularly fluffy cake batter, we recommend separating the eggs. In this case, the egg yolk would be mixed with the butter and the egg white would be whipped into egg whites. The egg whites are added to the batter at the end.
